Manatee Family YMCA Relief Care Camp

To serve and strengthen our community, the Manatee Family YMCA is offering a limited capacity all-day, school-age relief care for essential workers and to help support the children of working professionals.

This full day relief care will give your child(ren) the opportunity to engage in constructive activities including: arts and crafts, STEM activities, sports, outdoor games, and daily swim time.  All children will also participate in the Suncoast Summer Reading Challenge provided by The Patterson Foundation. There will not be any field trips during the summer as it is our priority to keep your children safe.

In addition, all children in attendance will receive daily breakfast and lunch, complimentary of The School District of Manatee County Food and Nutrition Services. Please bring 2 snacks and a reusable water bottle for each child daily.

PLEASE MARK EVERY ITEM WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME - Please ensure your child(ren) are dressed in athletic attire, including sneakers. Please bring a swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen daily. The number of staff and children present at each shift will be limited to allow social distancing.

Our Y staff will intentionally teach and encourage good hand hygiene, respiratory etiquette and follow a strict sick child/staff policy. For the safety and well-being of others in the program, those who are running a temperature of 100+ degrees cannot attend. Temperature will be checked at morning check in.

If CDC restrictions ease up and we can safely add spaces for more participants, we will assess the weekly cost to see if we can decrease it.  With having only limited spots available, we are not able to cover the costs with regularly priced Summer Camp.  The Manatee Family YMCA has received some monetary donations and grants to help make up the difference and keep the cost where it is now.  We will also continue to look for other funding sources and lower the price per week if possible.

If you know anyone who is willing to help fund our Relief Care Camp, please connect them with the Branch Executive below.
